<p class="Paragraph"><help:to-be-embedded Eid="spaltentext"><help:help-text value="visible">This is where you define the number of columns to be used on a page, in a frame or a section. You can also determine the type, height and position of the column dividers and alter the column widths.</help:help-text></help:to-be-embedded></p>
<p class="Paragraph">You can use this dialog to set the number of columns for your document. You can also select from several column layouts in Preview. The column settings for pages apply to all pages with the active Page Style. The column settings for multicolumn frames apply to the current frame or, if the frame style is changed, to all frames based on this style (or a style derived from it).</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Enter the number of columns into this field which are to be inserted between the page margins or between the left and right borders of the frame.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph">You do not have to enter the number of columns. Click one of five selection fields to select a column layout.</p>

<p class="Paragraph">The functions used to change the column width are active only if the <span class="T1">Automatic width</span> check box is not marked.</p>

<p class="Paragraph">Displays the column number, as well as width and distance to adjacent columns.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If there are more than three columns, use this icon to be able to view the columns located outside of the display to the left.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">If there are more than three columns, use this icon to view additional columns outside the display area to the right.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">In the spin boxes, you can modify the width of a column (the respective column number appears above the field). The spin boxes are only active when the <span class="T1">Automatic width</span> field is not marked.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This is where you define the spacing between the two columns shown above.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">To work with columns that have identical widths, mark this check box.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Here you will find a selection of line widths. If you don't want a separator line between the columns, choose <span class="T1">None</span>.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This <help:popup Id="65630" Eid="drehfeld">spin box</help:popup> is only active if you have selected a line width in the field<span class="T1"> Type</span>. <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>You can define the height of the separator relative to the height of the section in this space. The default is a separator from the upper to lower page border.</help:help-text></p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:help-text value="visible" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">This field is only active if the value specified in <span class="T1">Height</span> is less than 100%. Choose between the positions <span class="T1">Top</span>, <span class="T1">Centerered</span> or <span class="T1">Bottom</span>.</help:help-text></p>
